Christmas Update from the Kalinas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! THE LORD HAS COME!
What a beautiful gift this Christmas Season is! We wanted to just share a little update with you all like we did last year! Lots has changed, lots has stayed the same! The Lord has blessed us abundantly this year and has been by our side through the more difficult times.
I would like to add an important disclaimer here that I am a perfectionist, and the Lord often nudges me to let go of imperfect things and just trust in Him! Of course, the Walmart photo people threw me the perfect way to practice this kind of surrender by printing these wonderfully imperfect Christmas cards this year! So thank you for making it past the wretchedness of these cards, and making it here :)
I (Alli) am still working at Ave Maria in Parker, CO as a high school youth minister! It’s been a busy year with retreats, small groups, youth groups, and more! I am so blessed with an awesome pastor and amazing staff that I work get to work with! I am currently working on launching this platform you are on right now, “Lend me your heart” where I am hoping to write about my experiences with Christ and the Church! I also have a strong passion for making beautiful things, so you might see some of that here too :)
Tanner has been doing 100 million things in a hundred different places! He started working for the Eucharistic Congress last February where he helps plan and organize all the efforts of the USCCB’s initiative for a Eucharistic Revival in the Church! This job is right up his alley, and it brings him so much joy being able to serve the Church in this way! They are in high gear as they continue planning for the Congress which is happening this summer in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to the Eucharistic Congress, Tanner has been traveling all over the country for speaking engagements where he’s sharing the faith with kids and young adults! Some of this he’s able to for Saints Alive, the podcast him and his pals started, which has been so fun and so engaging! He’s traveled to Minnesota, Kansas, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Florida, and I’m sure I’m missing a lot more. But it is so fun watching Tanner get to do what he loves!
We are both very excited to hit the slopes this year as it gets snowier out here in Colorado! Some exciting news, 3 of my 4 siblings now live in Denver and a cousin too! So we are very excited for many adventures to come with all of them. It is such a blessing having family close by!
Tanner and I are in that phase of life where we are trying to decide where we want to plant roots! The big thing on our agenda this spring is deciding if we will buy a house in Colorado. Please keep us in your prayers and we hunt for and discern what the best move is for us!
